KU Field Station Code of Conduct


The University of Kansas Field Station is committed to a maintaining a safe, supportive and vibrant environment to foster research, education and community engagement at all field station properties and facilities. All users of the field station, including employees, researchers, students, educators and visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and to treat each other with respect. In addition to compliance with University of Kansas policies, all users of the field station must adhere to the following code of conduct.

Expected Behavior:

I will act ethically and with integrity.

I will be welcoming and inclusive of all people and work to foster a fair and equitable work environment.

I will be conscious of the well-being and safety of others and will intervene when a person’s health and safety is threatened.

I will be considerate of diverse backgrounds and value individual experiences that shape individual views and opinions.

I will use KU Field Station property, equipment and resources in a responsible manner.

 

Unacceptable Behavior:

Harassment, intimidation, threats, retaliation, assault, stalking and relationship violence.

Sexual abuse and unwelcome physical contact of any kind.

Discriminatory behaviors of any kind including those based on race, ethnicity, national or regional origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, age, physical appearance, or political views and affiliation.

Conduct that prevents the freedom of expression of others unless such expression violates this code of conduct.

Behavior that endangers the health or safety of oneself or others.

Unauthorized use and/or misuse of facilities, equipment and resources.

Violation of University rules and policies.

Violation of local, state or federal Laws.
