Biography —
Eric is a plant ecologist with broad interests in plant-soil-microbial interactions and the influence of these interactions on individual plant health and performance, as well as plant community structure and function. His previous work has focused on the effects of drought on the performance of native and non-native prairie plants and their associated mycorrhizal (AM) communities. His research also incorporates phylogenetic approaches to address plant-AM fungal relationships, with a particular interest in interspecific variation among and within plant genera. At our research center, he focuses on the impacts of the soil microbiome and plant diversity on restoration of soil quality.
