Research

Haley's undergraduate senior thesis was Treetronic electrical impedance scans of tanoaks exposed to sudden oak death. Also at the University of California, she participated in Conservation and Ecology in Practice, and immersive 50-day field course held at the UC Reserve field stations across California. She did forest ecology research at the UC Santa Cruz Forest Ecology Research Plot (FERP) tagging and measuring woody plants; conducting leaf litter surveys, herpetology surveys, and tree tomography scans.

Research interests:

  • Plant-microbe ecology
  • Mycorrhizal and pathogen influence on plant ecology and community dynamics
