Biography —
George worked as a fisheries technician with the U.S. Geological Survey and the Nez Perce Tribe at the salmon restoration on the Snake and Clearwater river drainages from 1998 through 2005. He worked in the energy sector in North Dakota and West Texas from 2006 to 2020. As part of his graduate program, he will develop curriculum on the ethnobotany of his reservation for students in the cultural and language immersion school recently established there. His work in the Kindscher Lab is funded by a USDA Plants Database grant; he will add tribal Nations' names to plants and ethnobotany information to the database.
