Research Summary:
The USA National Phenology Network (USA-NPN) monitors the influence of climate on the phenology of plants, animals, and landscapes. This is accomplished by encouraging citizens to observe events like leaf out, flowering, migrations, and egg laying, and by providing a place to enter, store, and share these observations. NatureServe and botanists from 11 heritage programs including Kansas compiled a list of 200 plant species from across the country to be monitored by citizen scientists.
